iHP48 Skins

The Skins feature is unique and was developed by Markus Gonser. The Skins add a lot of useful features to de iHP48 plus an elegant design and slyte.

To understand some of the features lets start from the 1.5.1 update and an Auto Setup for an HP 48GX. This procedure will install two same looking skins but with a lot of differences. Both Skins are based on Markus development of “Don’t Panic HD” Skin wich offered the base of the following two.

Don’t Panic HD

This skin and the based on it has tree amazin views; Simple, Portrait and Landscape.

You can acces the Simple View with a swipe movement upwards on the left side of the screen. Click once on the calculator screen for a hint on that.

To access the Portrait View, swipe downwards on the left side of the screen.

And to get the Landscape View, just rotate the iPhone and enjoy.

Don’t Panic HD No Gloss

This skin is based on “Don’t Panic HD”, but I remove the “Gloss” efect on the calculator screen, I dont like it at all. And change the default view to Portrait, ready to use after auto setup. The Portrait and Landcape Views has the following great features:

• Every button is sensitive to provide some key shortcut swiping right to get it right shift funtion, or left to the left one, or down to get it alpha shift. For example, if you swipe right over the ENTER button you should get the Matrix environment.
• Tap the iHP calculator display for a hover menu and hints of the available options.
• Swipe the calculator display from the middle in any directions to get the arrow key of that direction.
• Swipe the display on the right up to Copy and down to Paste.
• Swipe on the left up to Simple View and down to Portrait View.

Don’t Panic HD No Gloss No Swipe

This skin is based on “Don’t Panic HD”, but I remove the “Gloss” efect on the calculator screen, I dont like it at all. And change the default view to Portrait, ready to use after auto setup.

This Skin is adapted for Fast Fingers by the clean of the code removing all the swipe shortcuts on the calculator keys. This “feature” cause that fast finger users opens accidentally menues or activate funtions undesirable on the HP48, and calim for that option to diseble the swipe. Most of the users thinks that is a bug or issue but an incredible feature.

The Portrait and Landcape Views has the following great features:

• Fast Fingers enable, no swipe on keys.
• Tap the iHP calculator display for a hover menu and hints of the available options.
• Swipe the calculator display from the middle in any directions to get the arrow key of that direction.
• Swipe the display on the right up to Copy and down to Paste.
• Swipe on the left up to Simple View and down to Portrait View.
